What is Dear Nina: Conversations About Friendship?
DEAR NINA—the newsletter and the podcast— features highly relatable conversations about the ups and downs of friendship. I’m the host, Nina Badzin, a writer who accepted an assignment in 2014 to write about friendship and never stopped. I started the podcast in 2021. You’d think I’d have nothing new to say about friendship, but you’d be wrong. The podcast has been referenced in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Time Magazine, The Guardian, The Chicago Tribune, Woman's Day Magazine, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, and elsewhere.
In this newsletter I discuss thoughts on friendship I don’t share anywhere else, the anonymous letters that never make it on air because they’re too long and juicy, the conversations I’m having on the podcast, friendship-in-the-news, book/TV/recipe recommendations, and more.
I always love hearing from readers and listeners. My work on friendship is meant to be a conversation between us and between you and your friends. I hope you will share your thoughts with me and with each other.
Want to connect outside of this newsletter? You can also find me on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X/Twitter, and really most often— in my Facebook group all about friendship called, Dear Nina: The Group.

What do you get if you’re a paid subscriber!
Paying subscribers can read the anonymous friendship dilemmas readers email to me and my answers. These will be too specific or too personal in nature for the podcast, but still worth a quick read. When you upgrade to a paid subscription, you also get full access to previous questions.
